Not really only 3? when you get to 150 let us know, then it might be time!!

Fix up the best one of the three, borrowing parts from the others if you have to, and use the other two for trade stock. That is unless you like these so much that you want on on every floor.

Sorry, still sleepy, I meant. 116b, not 37-116b.

You only need an intervention if you have them stacked in ascending serial number order......Icon_mrgreen

Great radios!

Not yet.

I'm not into much past 1938, but the 48-482 is an excellent set!

No need for an intervention.

FWIW:

Chassis # A49671 has the label (P/N 39-8507) that shows a 6SQ7GT for the 1st audio
Chassis #A 63512 and A66684 have label (P/N 39-6810) that shows the 7B6

all 3 have the 7B6 of course.

The center one has had the cabinet redone at some point, the Philco decal has the wrong font on the H. I have not pulled the chassis yet (I just got the set) so I'll have to see how much work needs to be done to it.

The bottom one still has the original C102 filter cap, and has no leakage. Almost every paper cap leaked, but the filter is as good as the day the set was built.

John, I do believe you have a serious problem. I would be happy to help and pay shipping if you need a little relief from your affliction.

We have 3 radios newer than 1940 and that is one of them.

Well I pulled the chassis out of the one I just got, and boy was I surprised. ALL original from the power cord to the tubes. I don't think the radio ever went to the repair shop. Replaced C103/305 for a motorboating problem in FM all the screen grid bypass condensers and dropping resistors in the IF sections and C515 (a leaky silver mica) for an intermittent FM operation issue. Did an alignment and she runs like a...a.....a...like a PHILCO!
