The belt came yesterday, I have just installed it, the vernier now works well, I can tune the cap by the tuning knob (which is quite mishapen but... Can't have all at once).
The procedure is a PITA.
There are 2 C-clips, old style (no notches or holes for the tool) that are at the opposite ends of the shaft, and then the volume pot has to be unscrewed and the bracket that holds it unscrewed and turned to let the shaft go far back so it clears the way for the belt to be put over it.
But I did it.
Ready to put it back in the cabinet.
