Three years after the release of the October radio model, modernization was carried out and in  1957 the new October 2  model was made.

       

Externally, it looks like an entirely new model of a slightly smaller size, but in the middle of this radio is almost unchanged, with the exception of a scale mechanism and smaller speakers. The radio October 2 became the latest premium model that was manufactured for octal lamps by enterprises in the city of Leningrad. Since the end of the 1950s, the entire Soviet Union's radio industry for the manufacture of radio and television sets began to use "finger" lamps.
