The toothed attachment on the back of the tuner is part of a device called "Flash Tuning". I did a little reading on it as I didn't know anything about it! Evidently, it's for setting up favorite stations. when the switch is turned on the set is muted until you reach the specified station, at that point a contact breaks the circuit and the audio is turned on and a indicator light comes on. Kind of like Philcos "Conecentric" tuning. Should be fun to play with.
Jerry, that is Willow. She is my co-pilot and best buddy! Actually she is a Shetland Sheepdog, but she is large for her breed and most people call her the Lassie dog Shelties are smaller than Collies and come from Northern Scotland and the Shetland Isles. The funny thing about her is that if I try to get a picture of just her she won't get anywhere close to me, but every time I take pictures of new radio's I get, she will always manage to wander into the picture, maybe she is jealous! She wasn't too happy with me. She had to give up her backseat to the Silvertone and ride up front with me on the trip home!
