My Philco 90
#1

I picked up this Philco  model 90 for $30.00.
The cabinet is in very good condition, with the original knobs finish and grill cloth.

I have not taken the chassis out  yet.  This one will be a winter project.
After doing some research I find that this model is very collectable,so I consider myself  lucky
in that respect.
When I get to the chassis i will probably have some questions, especially about the Bakelite caps.

Nice snag Dan! Not only is it a very collectable radio, but it is also a Canadian Philco 90 and appears unmolested chassis-wise. Mershon's still intact, and the power transformer in those sets are known for being almost bullet-proof being built for the lower 40 cycle electric used in Canada at the time. Great find! The bakelite blocks are easy and we have a tutorial in the library althoug I usually take them completely out of the set to work on them.

Nice thing about "A" is, they have metal labels that do not degrade.

Nice catch too!

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
