Plug Voltages Needed For A 1943 CRV-20130 Power Supply
#1

Hello Everyone,
I am looking for voltage identification for all the pin positions on the socket of a CRV-20130 power supply. This is the supply that is used with a 1943 Navy RBB receiver. My plan is to tap into the unit to operate a 1945 Navy RBM-5 radio that requires 205v DC and 12v AC. I would appreciate any information or advice regarding the proper way to do the procedure. Thank you.
Paul

hello david,
I have a similar generator in my collection that features a cast iron, single-cylinder Briggs & Stratton engine.

That looks a lot like an aircraft connector of some kind, even if it's a U.S.N power supply. I have a book somewhere about War Surplus radios, but I think most of them are U.S Army or aircraft receivers. I think I found what you may be looking for on this site: https://www.navy-radio.com/rcvrs/rbb-rbc.htm At least they have a circuit diagram for the power supply. Also the RBM-5 https://www.navy-radio.com/rcvrs/rbm.htm I think it may be easier to hold off and see if someone wants to swap your supply for a proper, matching one.

That is a MIL-5015 style connector, used in a wide variety of military electronics, as well as in a wide variety of industrial, instrumentation, and medical electronics. They were made primarily by Amphenol.

The engine is a B&S 23 inch cast Iron holds 2 quarts of oil. The Generator is a 4 pole 1800 rpm mine was made in 1952 was purchased in 1983 by a WW2 veteran who was a radioman. The generator was new Jack picked it up from a surplus store in Largo Florida. The design is from 1935-36 output is 120 volts using a twist lock connector. If you take a voltage reading from either pin to ground will read 60 volts AC pin to pin 120 volts AC. Old voltage standard from 1920 era. The house I grew up in had that set up so the fuse box had 2 sets of fuses for each circuit. When the panel was updated Tampa electric had to install a new transform for my parents house.
