Model 70 cap ?
#1

Morning all

I have a model 70 below sn# 22,000    http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/833/M0013833.htm

I'm about to replace the by-pass caps  in the block both are .015 all I have are X2 in that value or a Y2 in .022. It says to use Y2 for line to ground.
what is the difference between the two? Which should I use?

Well doing searches I came across this from Just Radios   http://www.justradios.com/safetytips.html

I will use the .02 Y2 it's about 50% higher but I think it will be fine unless I hear differently.

Any time you cross the isolation barrier like the transformer, connecting Mains to Gnd, you have to use Y.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
