Model 65 Hiboy
#1

Hi All

I am new to the group. I acquired a mod 65 highboy that I am trying to restore but it has some items in the chassis that do not match the Ryder schematic I have. I found a bad ant primary coil that I will rewind but this coil looks to have a center tap and a switch. The schematic shows a 5K resistor to gnd.
I was wondering if any of you experts would enlighten me if someone had run across this before
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi bob, welcome to the Phorum!!!  Icon_wave .

Moved your post to this new thread in Electronic Restoration.  It would disappear in the other section after awhile.

Hi Bob and Welcome,
Don't see a ct either on the ant coil. A tap and a switch could be used a a local/distance set up.

Bob,
Yes that is the volume control.

Bob L,
How it works is it varies the screen grid voltage on the two RF amp tubes. The lower the screen grid voltage the lower the gain of the tube hence the lower the volume and vise virsa.
