need color advice
#1

I am digging into a very nice 53-960 and it will need stripping and refinishing. What color of Mohawk lacquer is correct for this model?

The Philco gallery says its the wood used was mahogany, and it looks reddish like mahogany in picture, I would go with that. There are different shades of mahogany, pick one that you like the best and run with it.  If the wood on cabinet is in good shape, just grain fill and sand with 240 grit or higher ,the film off leaving filler in pores only ,  and then clear it with lacquer, you should be fine
