Philco 84 caps
#1

Restoring Philco 84 the Bakelite cap # 28 has 2 .015 caps, can I get by with .01Y or .05Y caps I don't have any .015 unless I order them.
Thanks.

If those are the AC input filters, yes, 0.01uF is what you need, Y-rated.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Thanks, Morzh

Is there a later schematic not showing Cap. #32. I must have a later chassis it does not have cap. #32

Thanks.

Just pretend it's not there. It's was to tune the field coil. What I do when I overhaul is replace 29 w/2x 10mfd@450v and 28 w/10mfd@35v. The 35v one goes w/the +side to the chassis and - to the hv c tap.
