Show me how to fix the veneer chunks! I don't knew how to do a good job.

He had, a few years ago, a step by step veneer chunk missing repair thread.

Kirk's excellent tutorial lives here:

Oh No you can't start fixing it now (16RX) there's nobody to catch me when I faint!!!  Oh that's right I use to faint all the time and nobody caught
me.
Kidding aside Thanks!

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Just don't pile them up together on top of other junk when hauling them in Kutztown Icon_lol

BTW....there's also that 16B.....with the scratch...or is there?

Dont fall Terry! BUT if you do can I have the check? Icon_lol

Yes Mike, it is in que to be fixed up. I want these done just as much as y'all do.

Veneering has begun.

Sams combo unit is most likely going to be re-veneered so I picked up a 4' x 8' sheet of strait grained Walnut.

I have repaired most all the chips and they are now going to be chiseled & sanded.

Mikes 620 cabinet is horrid. Everything is loose and separated. Must have been in a basement?? Every time I repair veneer that falls off another piece falls off.  Icon_mad

Excellent tutorial. Thanks!!

I wonder about the basement Icon_smile
Are you even sure ir is mine?

It's been exactly 4 years.
I am not even sure the chassis works anymore. It could've died from cold without the cabinet.

Sam

Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as a gift

Sam!
Were've you been?
Do you only pop up when Kirk restores your cabinets?

Sam, some of the Zenith "toaster" sets had handles and some did not..... good to hear from you again!

Icon_lol you a funny guy Mike.... Yes it is the only one I have. Things arent falling off but they are separated so I have to either rip them off and re-attach or inject where possible. No worries, She is going to be wonderful... Then she can warm up your chassis. Icon_wink

It's not that bad Sam and it is definitely worth restoring even with the issues. It is a rare set... Even I dont have one. Icon_evil

John is correct. This one came with the handle but many do not.... AND yes it is the one you bought at Kutztown in 2018.
