I've seen them before in 620 and 630 models, and the bare space *might* show in the escutcheon if the black piece isn't there. I do not remember as the only 1936 Philcos I own now are the early and late 116B sets, and I do not believe they have a plastic piece like that.

If it doesn't show, no need to worry about it.

Edit: I have to clarify - I forgot my 630 chassis in a 610T cabinet. As I recall, it does not have that piece.
