I've seen 46-1203 sets in the past - even owned one at one time - but I don't recall the dimensions of the D-10 as opposed to an M-20. If they are of similar size and the M-20 fits, I say go for it.
Such "upgrades" were commonly done after 33-1/3 and 45 rpm records became commonly available. This is why we often find older console radio-phonographs with newer changers inside. (I know the 46-1203 is a tabletop, not a console.)
