labels for push buttons....presets???
#16

Chuck it was a full package that also included a station reference locations to go with the tabs, it had phono, on/off etc with it. It was for a 40-42/xxxxx if my memory is correct. I will give you all the info once I find the package which I am doing house cleaning now (taking a break now) I will email you all the details. I picked it up off Ebay (very nice and complete condition) for the 41-611P I have and tucked it away somewhere and with age I am now trying to figure where it is tucked.

The tab kit envelope should have the part no. 40-6595 on it then.

Merry Xmas All:

Newcomer here in the phorum. Been learning about tube radios and acquired a Philco 42-380 toward the end of the summer to get me started with a project. With the help of some local talent, I've been getting it back into shape. Will post some photos soon.

One of the things I'm looking for are the labels for the push buttons.

Does anyone know where I can find some?

Vince

P.S. Ron - Bought your Philco book recently. Nice job!

Alternatively, you can make your own if you want to have your current AM station's call letters:

Thank you Chuck and Ron.  I'll give these a try on some heavy paper or light cardboard stock.

Here's a photo of the radio:

Hi Vince. I print mine on stiff paper and spray it with clear polyurethane on both sides before cutting the tabs out. It makes them much more durable to the point where I can use them without the covers for the buttons of my 48-482.  One nice thing about making your own, you can choose the font and size lettering you want. I use white lettering on black background. Since the buttons on the 48-482 are so big, on the station buttons I was able to list both the call letters and the frequency below them because the size font needed to fit 4 call letters was small enough so I could put 2 lines on the button.

I find little projects like this can be as much fun as the electronic work. Best of luck to you in making yours !

Now if only I could get my hands on some mystery control tabs. I'm not even sure what their authentic color should be...
