Ron’s notes:
Many 1941 and 1942 Philco models use pushbuttons to make it easy for the user to tune in their favorite AM radio stations.
Philco included a call letter tab kit with each set when it was sold to the original owner. The dealer installed the tabs corresponding to the owner’s favorite stations, and gave the remaining tabs to the owner.
These sheets of tabs were often discarded, and many others have been lost over time.
Complete sets of 1941 and 1942 call letter tab kits are now available for download; see the links below.
These call letter tab sheets were originally scanned by Chuck Schwark, who has graciously furnished them for free download here. The original sheets were missing several call tabs; Chuck recreated the missing tabs with Photoshop, so each set you may download below is a complete set of tabs.
You may download the set appropriate for the model year of your Philco, print them, cut them out and install them in the escutcheon of your radio.
Each kit of sheets includes “OFF-ON” tabs as well as “PHONO,” “TELEVISION,” “REMOTE,” etc. tabs.
