The Fisher FM-200 Tuner – My Christmas Project

Since my FM-200 tuner is starting to come together with the addition of a front panel and dial scale, and the possibility of a bottom cover and at least some of the knobs in the near future, I have chosen this as my Christmas 2020 project.

This is also my Christmas present to myself for this year, since I was unable to join the Fisher 800-B club. I tried twice in the past few weeks, without success, to win an 800-B on the auction site. My wanted ad on AudioKarma has so far gone unanswered. So an 800-B will have to wait a while – the FM-200 it is.

I had previously given background information on the FM-200 in this post, and have told the story of waiting nineteen days for a front panel and dial glass for this tuner thanks to USPS in this post. Once the dial glass and front panel arrived, I temporarily attached both to my previously barebones FM-200 tuner chassis – and was thrilled at its appearance in spite of the front panel having some flaws (which, as I have mentioned previously, I was aware of at the time of purchase).
